Founded in 1971, Information & Quality Healthcare (IQH), also known as the Mississippi Foundation For Medical Care
(MFMC), is a nonprofit, voluntary-membership association that shares information and promotes quality improvement. Nearly 2000 Mississippi physicians make up the voluntary membership. IQH is currently serving as the federally designated Quality Improvement Organization
(QIO) for Mississippi
. IQH works under contract with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS). As the QIO, IQH's is to improve the quality of health care for Medicare beneficiaries. IQH works with physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers in ongoing quality improvement efforts, as well as being a resource for Medicare beneficiaries who have concerns about their care. IQH also operates as a Tobacco Quitline for the states of Alabama

and several private contracts.

Dr. Arthur A. Derrick Memorial Award Recipients
The Arthur A. Derrick Award that is presented annually by IQH to recognize a physician’s outstanding efforts to the quality program was created in 1993 in memory of Dr. Derrick. The Durant, Mississippi physician is remembered for his special contributions to medicine in the state and as a long-time supporter of quality improvement and the organization’s work.
