The Institute is composed of seven consortium members, Douglass Residential College, the Department of Women's and Gender Studies, the Center for American Women and Politics, the Institute for Research on Women, the Institute for Women & Art, the Center for Women's Global Leadership, and the Center for Women and Work. The Institute for Women's Leadership focuses on women's leadership issues on the local, national, and international scales. As a complementary function to its research and activist goals, the Institute provides a rich networking environment and supports the career development of its members.

(Five-week internship with a New Brunswick organization and weekly interactive seminar.)

-Crystal-Barkley's Life\Work Design Program
(Five-day seminar to prepare women leaders interested in using their skills to make social change to develop goals towards taking the next significant steps in their lives.)

-Ready to Run
(One-day conference program designed to encourage potential women candidates in New Jersey to run for public office.)

-Annual Interdisciplinary Faculty and Graduate Research Seminar
(Weekly thematic seminar for researchers who want to share perspectives on women's roles.)

-National Dialogue on Educating Women for Leadership
(National, continuing conversation among educators, scholars, and experts that explores a range of women's leadership issues, programs, and research.)
