Early life

Miller grew up in a residential area just blocks away from the East Palestine Ohio Elementary, Middle, and High School; each of which he attended through his sophomore year of high school. Miller began playing hockey at a young age, while highly active in other organized athletics such as football, baseball, and, for a short period, drag racing. Throughout his football career, he played quarterback.
