Jack R. Howard was a broadcasting executive. He was President of The E. W. Scripps Company from 1953 to 1976. He was President of the Inter American Press Association (1965 - 1966). Howard helped found (n 1962) and served as president of the Scripps Howard Foundation
.
He was the son of Roy W. Howard, a founder of United Press. After several years in newspaper journalism, including reporting from Japan, Howard moved into broadcasting, and chaired Scripps Howard's broadcasting division for 39 years.
