Joseph I. Bentley

Joseph I. Bentley was a major real estate lawyer in California. Since his retirement in 2003 he has served as an adjunct law professor at Brigham Young University
(BYU) and as the business and legal documents editor for the Joseph Smith Papers Project.
Bentley received his bachelors degree from BYU and then went on to receive his J.D. degree from the University of Chicago
. He then joined the law firm of Latham and Watkins where he remained until 2003. Among other projects with Latham and Watkins Bentley handled the acquisition and financing of Pepperdine University
's Malibu Campus.
