Released by Porto, Ribeiro signed a four-year contract with Associação Naval 1º de Maio
in the 2006 summer, making his top division debut on 3 December, playing 25 minutes in a 0–2 away loss against C.D. Aves, and appearing in a further 11 games as the Figueira da Foz
club retained its division status.
In the following season, Ribeiro became first-choice at Naval, appearing in 27 matches and scoring three times, with his team finishing in 11th position. He missed the vast majority of the 2008–09 campaign due to injury.
After one year on loan to fellow first divisioner Associação Académica de Coimbra, Ribeiro left Naval and signed for Vitória Sport Clube. On 15 January 2011, he scored his first official goal for the Guimarães
-based team, in a 1–0 home win against S.C. Olhanense.
