History

The club was founded in 1926. After it had been dissolved briefly in 1949, they were re-established in the same year under the simple name Krujë. Two years later they were renamed Puna Krujë before the original name was again introduced in 1958. They have switched divisions on a regular basis from the 1990s on, starting in the first Albanian league and relegated to the second division in 1993. After another promotion and relegation they even fell down in the third division in 2003. However they reclaimed their place on the top level after the 2008/2009 season.
