  • King's Buildings House (known as KB House) is the student union at King's Buildings. A bar serving hot food and drinks can be found downstairs with a large lounge, along with a student shop and a games room. A full servery can be found upstairs, serving a much wider variety of hot food. The building is also home to a gym, two badminton and two squash courts.

  • Many of the academic buildings are host to their own cafes, with lower rates for students. These cafes often have large seating areas that can be used for studying, but these must usually be vacated during lunchtime.

Kings Buildings 5 Mile Road Race

  • The Edinburgh University 'KB' 5 Mile Road Race is organised every year by the Edinburgh University Hare and Hounds. It is usually held in late February or early March. The race starts and finishes inside the Kings Buildings Science and Engineering Campus, on West Mains Road. The course consists of a 5 mile road loop around the leafy streets of south Edinburgh, with quite a few hills, though none of them steep. The race is always popular with both students and local club runners and usually attracts around 250 participants. More information can be found on the Edinburgh University Hare and Hounds website
