In October 2000 Koç University moved to its permanent campus at Rumeli Feneri, Sarıyer
, Istanbul located on a hill close to the city but far removed from the distractions of city life. It sprawls over a sixty-two acre site. The sixty buildings, academic and administrative - laboratories, library, dormitories, faculty residences, social and sports facilities are the product of a meticulous, integrated design. Drawing upon warm and natural materials, including stone, plaster, wood and clay roof tiles, the architecture is a blend of the historical style of İstanbul and the timeless characteristics of well-established academic institutions.

Koç University has 364 faculty members nearly all of whom are full-time. 95% of the faculty members have received their degrees from American or European Universities. Most faculty members are established researchers in their field. The Koç University faculty brings together established senior researchers in Turkey and recent PhD's from the top research institutions in the US and Europe. Of the 80 members of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, 10 are Koç University faculty members. Furthermore, Koç University's junior faculty earned 29 of the 219 Outstanding Young Scholar Awards given by
Turkish Academy of Sciences
in the last ten years. What's more, many faculty members are recipients of the Science and Junior Science awards of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, which are the most prestigious scientific awards in Turkey. Many research projects at Koç University are supported by European Research Council
and Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
With its prominent faculty, Koç University is one of the leading research institutions in Turkey. Between 1993 and 2006, 2,340 articles and 117 books have been published by its faculty members. For the last five years, Koç University ranked in top ten in the list of Turkish universities for number of published articles per faculty member.
As of 2009, Koç University has 3,945 undergraduate students and 451 graduate students. Half of the student body live on Campus.
Those graduates who have chosen to continue their education in the graduate programs, have been accepted to top schools. 87% of those graduates have received full scholarships from PhD programs they have been accepted to. Some of the universities the graduates continue with their studies are: Princeton, Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, Chicago, London School of Economics.
