Kuwait's Second District

Kuwait's second district consists of 13 residential areas starting from the main suburban districts of Dahiyat Abdullah Al-Salem, Shammiya and Shuwaikh to the tribal areas of Sulaibkhat and Doha. It also includes Qadsia, Mansouriya, Faiha and Nuzha. It has the lowest number of voters among the five districts with 41,365 voters, including 22,103 women and 19,262 men. The constituency is a real mixture of the major components of the Kuwaiti society with City people, tribes and Shiites.
Doha has the largest number of voters with 6,636 followed by Sulaibkhat with 6,231 and Qadsia with 5,484. Tribal voters constitute between 20 to 25 percent of the total electorate with Shiites close to 15 percent and the recent are city people or as locally known as "Hadhar".
