Laura Codruţa Kövesi is the current Prosecutor
-General of Romania
(Procuror General), the head of the Public Ministry and General Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice
(Parchetul General de pe lângă Înalta Curte de Casaţie şi Justiţie). She was appointed in October 2006, the first female to be appointed to this post. At the age of 33 in 2006, she is also one of the youngest Prosecutors-General that Romania has had.
