. They named the band The Sírex, due to Guillermo working at his father's glasses factory, in where they used a thread to adjust the frames of the glasses called Sírex. They became identified by playing a pure rock and roll with daring lyrics that caused them trouble with the Spanish censorship of that era.

Biography

The start of their training began in June 1959 in Barcelona, when three friends and neighbors of the Gran Vía (Guillermo Rodríguez Holgado, Antonio Miers and Manolo Madruga) decided to start playing under the influence of the music of Elvis Presley

To complete his apprenticeship, they approached the University Spanish Sindicate of the street Canuda, or to the CAPSA theatre, at Aragon Street, where other groups like Estrellas Fugaces or Los Cocodrilos played. In 1960, Santi Carulla, then singer of the band Los Mustang and a classmate of Guillermo joined the formation. The first performance of Los Sirex was at the Barcelona's footballers club at Caspe street. They would be followed by concerts at the "Tropical" in Castelldefels

. This series of concerts caused Santi Carulla split from his companions by the pressure of his father so Antonio Miquel from the band Los Meteors occupied his place as lead singer and furthermore, Pepe Fontseré with the rhythm guitar.
