Los Yorks was a band of Garage, Psychedelic and Peruvian Beat formed in 1964 in the district of Rimac in Lima Peru. Despite its relatively short existence, was one of the most successful groups of their época. Was the first garage band beat in Peru to have a radio program and television own and one of the first to write their own songs in Spanish They had a visceral style, Pablo Luna vocalist of the band, moving frenetically to the rhythm of the songs vocalized. The name of the band

History

The band's history began when Roman Palacios and Fred Aguilar know in 1964 and there arises the idea of ​​forming a band. Peace Walter joins the group even underage. The group was almost made, but lacking a vocalist, they begin to audition one.

In a morning at the "tauro Theater", the group called "Press", in which Paul sang. His electrifying performance was what he called attention to Roman and Fred, and so, they invited him to rehearse with them. Paul accepted.The band was a fan of "Los Saicos" and, therefore, played a few songs from them. The style of the band was the first recording Psicodélico Beat (45 rpm) was published in March 1967. After a few recordings recorded (45 rpm). One of the recordings, "Abrazame" sold over 40,000 copies, record unusual case for MAG. Subsequently removed and temporarily replaced him with Paul Luna that short time Enrique Palacios.

Record labels Conflict

Because gained fame, the label "El Virrey" offers better conditions for editing his new LP. After a quarrel with his old hard label "MAG" agree with "El Virrey". Unfortunately "MAG" not willing to dispense with the Yorks, edit already recorded tracks with the voice of Pablo Villanueva (better known in Peru as "Melcochita" tropical comedian and musician) who had also played some instruments and participated in choirs in the first LP of the group.

With some issues that they leave recorded in MAG, the label released the record that would be titled "Yorks 69", LP that the band defined as a hard apocryphal. Although many issues if they are touched by the Yorks, "Melcochita" simply vocalizing. For the Yorks, the titles that Paul Villanueva puts the songs are "just huachafo". Titles refer to as "El Loco" "the psychedelic" or "The Prisoner" songs that use recordings of the Yorks, and some of the "Teddys", sung and everyone graduates "Melcochita". Military dictatorship and separation of the band

After this incident, York's finish editing his new label that would be the last of their LP, "York's, Rhythm and Feeling" album with songs like "I Love You", "Easy Baby", "Sussie Q "among others.
