He graduated as a lawyer from the Central University of Venezuela in 1962 and a doctorate in law from the same university in 1969. He obtained a diploma of advanced studies in Latin America and school of higher studies social science from Paris
in 1982. He teaches at the faculty of economics and social sciences from the Central University of Venezuela since 1966 and has owns the university since 1988.
The quality and content of his works received many awards among which are: Award Casa de las Americas, For "Rajatabla" in 1970 and 'Abrapalabra "in 1979, Latin American Playwriting Award Andrés Bello by "The Mass of the slave" in 1980, the Municipal Theatre Award for "The tyrant Aguirre" in 1975, Juana Sujo Theatre Award for "Venezuela Yours" in 1971), Humorous Literature Prize Pedro León Zapata by "As I laugh in the world" in 1981, mention Municipal Award in 1999 and winner essay Ezequiel Martínez Estrada in 2005 and National Literature Prize in Venezuela in 2002, for all his work.
