Mark Peter Taylor is the Dean of Warwick Business School
(WBS) at the University of Warwick
, and a leading international authority in international finance, with extensive experience in both the financial sector and higher education. He has held a professorship in international finance at University of Warwick
since 1999.
Before becoming Dean of WBS in early 2010, he was a Managing Director at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, where he ran the European arm of the Global Markets Strategy Group, a large global macro investment fund. He has also been an Economist the Bank of England and was for five years a Senior Economic Advisor at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. Mark’s academic appointments include professorships at the Universities of Oxford, Liverpool and New York.
He completed his first degree at Oxford University and also holds MSc and PhD degrees in economics and finance from London University, as well as an MBA and an MA in English literature. Mark’s recreations include theoretical and practical horology and collecting English antique clocks, languages (French, Spanish and Russian), literature and (small-scale) sheep farming.
