In 2005, the airport got permanent international status, and now has a duty-free shop in the departure area. In 2008, the runway was extended to 1980 metres (6,496.1 ft) (LDA) and 2050 metres (6,725.7 ft) (TORA), along with other improvements, including an upgrade of the terminal with a new arrival and baggage claim area and a new duty-free shop. Scandinavian Airlines terminated their services to Trondheim on 31 January 2010. Starting on 3 February 2010, Sun Air of Scandinavia
started a service with Dornier 328
to Trondheim, operated for Krohn Air
