History

It was founded in 1853 by the Sisters Oblates of Mary Immaculate. It became a girls' direct grant grammar school

St. Michael's College now no longer exists, as all remaining pupils transferred over to the Mount St. Mary's site. They merged in 2005, with the St Michael's site closing in 2008.
