The awards, held in the auditorium of Fiemg, was received by the coordinator of the Integrated Training University, Professor Evanilde Maria Martins.
In 2003, the PUC Minas was the first private university in Brazil to house a laboratory with the latest technology to perform climatological studies. It is the Centre of Excellence in Climatology - MG Time, which was created through a partnership between the University and Cemig
(Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais). The MG Time, featuring the latest equipment for receiving weather information, and one laboratory course with emphasis on Geography GIS PUC Minas count. Having as main objectives the development of weather forecasts with three days in advance for the 853 municipalities of Minas Gerais, warns of severe storms (rain and high winds), specific predictions for the areas of agriculture, road and rail transport, electricity sector, industry and tourism.
