Being Puffed

In 2006 and 2007, General Mills came out with a new advertisement campaign/contest, in which participants would be able to choose whether something was "puffed" or not. Participants would choose between two potential prizes, one of them blatantly not "puffed" and one blatantly "puffed". An example of this is where participants would decide between an "old broken down typewriter" or a "brand new shiny laptop".

Advertisements

Reese's Puffs advertisements are rap style. In 2011, two new advertisements were shown on TV. In one, camp kids on a bus see a famous movie star driving in a car when the bus stops at a red light, but when a boy eats Reese's Puffs, a Reese's Puffs truck drives up next to the bus, and everyone on the bus moves to the other side to see the truck. When the light turned green, the bus moves on, the boy looks at the movie star, and the movie star looks jealous at the boy. In another ad, one boy texts "breakfast RP style" when he eats Reese's Puffs. After that, he drops into a room with DJ stuff and a living room. When another boy gets the text message, he drops into the room with a few kids. Soon, the room is filled up with kids. When a girl asks "Can someone give me the Reese's Puffs?", the boy throws the girl a box of Reese's Puffs, which everyone tries to get.
