Comparison of SAT Program with the Economic Stimulus Program
In its decade of existence, the SAT program allocated about $220 million which generated about $330 million from other sources and resulted in the preservation of about 900 historic structures and the creation of about 16,000 jobs. This corresponds to a cost of about $13,000 to create each job. In contrast, the Obama administration's Stimulus Plan handout cost about $248,000 to create each job - nearly 20 times as expensive. http://www.placeeconomics.com/archives/476Economics of Historic Preservation
