Scoil Lorcáin is an all-Irish voluntary primary gaelscoil
which is located in Monkstown, County Dublin, Republic of Ireland. It prides itself in the Irish culture and teaches all subjects except English through the means of the Irish language
. The school is financed by resources from the Department of Education and Science, voluntary donations and money raised by parents. The school was founded in 1952.
There are two sections in Scoil Lorcáin the new school "an scoil nua" and the old school which they call the "scoil thall" there are four rooms on the first floor of the new school with two junioir and senior infants on the next floor there is two classrooms on the left and right although on the left there is a kitchen where the teachers eat there lunch at 11:45-12:10 which is play time for the classes there is a hall and the second floor too. On the third floor there are four classrooms.
In the old school there are six classrooms and a small library. There used to be 5 classrooms and a mixed 4th and 5th class but they moved the library and now every class has a room each.
