The chain began in 1997 with the opening of the first location in Bismarck, North Dakota

Space theme

Space Aliens restaurants are characterized by "futuristic" looking exteriors with a large domed ceiling in the center of the building, painted to show a view of outer space. Throughout the restaurant, many alien statues and other themed objects are displayed. Some restaurants also feature an arcade room called "Galaxy Games". The bar in the restaurant is referred to as "The Bar from Mars".

Food

Space Aliens is best known for its award-winning barbecue ribs and fire-roasted pizza; however, it has a wide selection of food items including steaks, hamburgers, and quesadillas.
