Starting as a dream of the sister's of St. Francis, The hospital was opened in 1892. and dedicated on June 13, 1893. The previous building was erected in the 1940s. In 2009, the hospital began construction of a new 30 acres (121,405.8 m²) campus, located in LakewoodLakewood, Colorado
