, and draws students from over fifty private and public feeder schools in the California counties of Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, and Placer. St. Francis is a sister school to Jesuit High School (Carmichael, California). During the 2003-2004 school year, St. Francis completed construction on new buildings that doubled the size of its facilities.

Academics

Currently enrolling 1065 students, St. Francis historically sends 99% of its graduates to college. Admission to St. Francis is selective and based on a placement test, previous school record and recommendation. Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year was $10,900 plus a $600 non-refundable registration fee.

Graduation Requirements

A minimum 240 credits is required for graduation. Each semester of coursework earns 5 credits. The semester requirements are:

Fine arts

Student performances and/or exhibitions abound in choir, orchestra, theater, dance and visual art. The Fine Arts program has received many regional awards and nominations in recent years. 75% of the student body is enrolled in Fine Arts.

Theatre

Every year St. Francis puts on a Fall Play and a Spring Musical. Drama classes are also offered. The SF Players, a theater troupe, also competes at the Lenaea Festival at CSUS every Winter.

Dance

St. Francis High School offers four different dance levels. From least advanced to most: Dance Styles, Intermediate Dance Techniques, Apprentice Dance Company, and Dance Company. All perform at various events throughout the year. The most notalble performance is the annual Winterfest Dance Concert which showcases the Apprentice and Company dance groups.

Music

There are three choral groups at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels: Troubadour Choir, Concert Choir, and Chamber Singers. There is also a Jazz Ensemble group. St. Francis also hosts two full orchestras: Concert and Chamber Orchestra. These groups perform at Golden Empire Music Festival, in 2007 both groups received a superior. In addition, they host a Christmas and Spring Concert.

Visual Arts

St. Francis offers coursework in Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture. The Henriette Doglietto Fine Arts Exhibition is held annually, and students also submit their work to various regional and State competitions.
