The church is a 12th century Grade I Listed building (built between 1141 and 1147). It is located on the Main Street on the southeast end of the village, and is situated right by the east bank of the River Soar
(which is the county boundary with Leicestershire
).
The current priest in charge
is Glenn Martin, who is also the priest in charge of the neighbouring parish of Sutton Bonington
. There are regular services held. Recently an earthquake
damaged the spire and major repair work is expected to be carried out in the spring of 2011.
