The school is part of the three tier system, serving as the High School stage, teaching children from the ages of 13-18 (year 9 to year 13). In 2007, 80% of the Year 11 students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE. The average A level point score per student was 333, the highest in the County and in the history of the school, whilst 46.4% of A2 grades were at A and B. An April 2009 Ofsted
inspection granted the school a grade 2 (Good) assessment, stating that standards are above average while some points were graded as having some outstanding features.
The school has a recently opened 'Maths Block' named 'The Canterbury
