who lead a colourful life as a financier. The first headmaster of the school was Roger Perrin, who led the school until 2001 and was instrumental in founding the liberal diversity of the school. Since then the school has been under the headship of Steve Cole, who left at the end of the 2009 academic year. Since that point the school has been under the headship of Dr Richard Maloney.
More recently, the school made history in its sporting department - The 1st XI Football Team became ESFA U18s National Champions of 2009., but were knocked out early doors by the Hampton 2nd XI at the last 32 stage
School council
The school has a board of pupils that represent each house. This is to allow pupils of different houses to put forward ideas to the school. The School Council wishes to be involved in changes, including rules, in the school allowing the Governors to have an informative response to how pupils feel.Within the academic year of 2008-2009 the school council has achieved:
- Bins at the Village shop as an active answer to the complaints to the villagers with problems of litter.
- More freedom of web use, as social networking is becoming an increasing trend the pupils can now access most social networking sites during out of class hours.
- Boarding pupils meals at weekends, the school council has developed new menu ideas to be used over the weekend.

Each school year in Christmas Term, the school holds a music competition between each of the school's houses (girls are put in boys houses to speed the contest up). Each house presents a 'big song' - a song chosen by the School that is sung by all members of each house, a 'small song' - where the best singers of each house sing a song which has been decided by a draw, and 'instrumental', where the house get to pick their own song, and must perform all the parts.IHMC 2010
