The hotel construction was designed by Russian architects TTA, with the participation of international architect firm Woods Bagot
. For the interior design, the work of interior design company BBG-BBGM was selected. BBG-BBGM is internationally recognized as a one of the leaders in the design of hotels, spas, restaurants and other hospitality projects.
Bringing a dynamic and contemporary style to the 21st century Moscow, it was the tallest hotel building of Moscow when it was completed in 2005. The building features 34 storeys. Its design plays with geometries, its circular tower being paired with a stepped, rectilinear podium.
After the opening in 2005 Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow was named “The Best Design Hotel” by Lodging Hospitality Magazine.

History
The idea of the hotel project began in 1995, when the OAO Moskva Krasnye Holmy was established to develop a business and cultural complex, called "Riverside Towers", located on the eastern tip of the Kremlin Island. Kai Restaurant
Kai Restaurant is the signature restaurant of Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow opened in October 2008. The warm modern design of the interior was created by BBG/BBGM together with a Swiss Interior Design Agency – Kessler. Erica Zaionts, a Russian fashion designer, designed the restaurant employee uniforms.The word Kai means:

The contemporary Swissôtel Conference Centre located near the hotel offers seven multi-functional conference halls, including one of the most spacious halls of Moscow, Grand Ballroom (557 sq.m.).Grand Ballroom has an access to a freight elevator can lift up cars, motorbikes, small yachts and bulky equipment which is very useful during exhibitions, presentations and fashion shows.

- A 165-meter building of Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow was used as a podium for a Vertical Catwalk Show in Moscow (October 2007).
- The internet project Unreal Politics appeared in October 2008 as a creative duo of a showwoman Tina Kandelaki and a journalist Andrey Kolesnikov. Together with Russian celebrities they discussed the most popular topics of Russian politics. The internet project that later became a TV show was filmed on the 29th floor of the hotel in a panoramic hall Davos.
