In an exciting match the Chinese appeared to have it won in the sixth set but the sixteen year old Guo tensed up and made a series of relatively simple mistakes to enable the South Koreans to wipe out a six point deficit and level the match at 3-3. Guo and Niu the settled back down and took a tight final set 11-9 to claim the bronze medal.
