Summary

Dr. Henry Jekyll has succeeded in curing a higher primate of its serious heart condition. He tests the serum on himself, resulting in dire consequences; he is transformed into another person—an evil, brutish primitive shadow of himself named Edward Hyde. Dr. Jekyll becomes a paranoid schizophrenic suffering from multiple personality disorder, not realizing that Hyde is a manifestation of himself. At first, Hyde starts to murder female college students, in order to frame Jekyll for the crimes, but it proves to be unsuccessful. Jekyll becomes a prime suspect. Hyde, realizing he is going to get fired for harassing his co-workers, begins to rape and murder Jekyll's boss, Donna Carew. Lanyon then finds out that Jekyll and Hyde are the same person. Detective Karen Utterson and Lanyon race to find Jekyll before its too late as the serum gives him immortality.
The film ends when Jekyll commits suicide by jumping off the roof of the hospital, in order to make sure that Hyde will never hurt anyone ever again. As Jekyll dies, he says "It was for my soul."
