The Foundation is supported by an endowment from the extended Weston family
, with the majority of the funds being directed to specific organizations in the fields of education

In addition to its principal ongoing commitments, the Foundation makes a number of trustee-initiated grants
each year.
Due to the focused nature of its grant-making, the Foundation is not accepting applications at this time.
This foundation was created with donations from both W. Garfield Weston and his wife Reta Lila Weston (nee, Howard) and from all of their 9 children: Grainger Weston, Miriam Burnett, Barbara Mitchell, Garry Weston, Wendy Rebanks, Camilla Dalglish, Gretchen Bauta, Galen Weston and Nancy Baron.
