He is currently shopping theaters and producers for his second full length play 9210 South Winchester, about growing up in a large Irish Catholic alcoholic family, and the emotional harm that stems from that upbringing.

Early life

O'Malley grew up in the Beverly neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. He is number 10 of 11 children. His father Thomas Aloysius O'Malley and his mother Mary Frances were married for some 50 years. They were well known in the Beverly area for their bridge game as well as their vast circle of friends. They successfully put all the children through college.
Mary passed in 1993 and Tom died in 1996.

O'Malley attended grammar school at Christ the King, high school at Morgan Park, and college at SIU. He discovered his career path in acting in 1980 after a long search and many changed majors.
