matches. The stadium holds 25,000 people. It was built in 1972. The stadium is owned by the Town Hall of Uberaba, and its formal name honors João Guido, who was Uberaba's mayor during the stadium construction.
, decided to build a football stadium. With the financial support of the entrepreneur Edgar Rodrigues da Cunha, the stadium was quickly built, being inaugurated in the following year.
The inaugural match was played on June 10, 1972, when the Brazil national football team
beat the Brazil olympic team 2-1. The first goal of the stadium was scored by Brazil national team's Rivelino
