Vasco de Ataíde

Vasco de Ataíde was a Portuguese sailor who commanded a ship of the expedition of Pedro Álvares Cabral in the discovery of Brazil. We know little about him as his brother Pero de Ataíde. Some historians believe that his ship, those who made up the fleet of Cabral, is one of four that were wrecked in the storm of May 24, 1500 when they left the Brazilian coast in the direction of India.
