Värmbols Gymnastik och Idrottsförening (Värmbols GoIF) was formed in 1927 and became best known for its bandy

 activities with the club playing several seasons in the top division of the Swedish national league. During the 1970s and 1980s the club won the bandy league title on three occasions in 1969, 1970 and 1972. The football team in contrast peaked in Division 3.

In 1990 it was decided to divide Värmbols GoIF into 3 clubs, namely FC Värmbols, DFK Värmbol (Värmbol Women's Football Club) and KVBK (Katrineholm Värmbol Bandyklubb). Värmbols Football Club was formed on 3 December 1990.

Since their foundation Värmbols FC has participated mainly in the lower divisions of the Swedish football league system
