. It will run 510 km through Shaanxi
and Sichuan
provinces and will accommodate trains traveling at speeds up to 250 km/h. Travel time between the two provincial capitals will be reduced from 13 to less than three hours.
The project was approved by the State Development and Planning Commission in October 2010. Construction have begun on November 10, 2010 and it is scheduled to be completed by 2015. The line will traverse the rugged Qinling and Daba Mountains
