. Zebedee Cliff was an Alderman and later a Mayor of the city of Somerville. A carpenter turned developer he has been credited with undertaking over $2 million worth of construction in Somerville before his death in 1934.

The American shingle style house was built in 1900 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
