Zlatý slavík was a music poll established by magazine Mladý svět
along with Smena na nedeľu in 1962, and brodcasted on television.
As later exposed, since the 70's the entries very frequently falsified by Communist Party of Czechoslovakia
(KSČ). The poll lasted until 1991, prior to the dissolution of the Czech and Slovak
the following year. While in the initial edition of the pool 797 votes in total were received, the highest number registered in its almost thirty years long history overpassed 115,000.
is the most successful artist in the history of the poll, followed by Hana Zagorová
who scored nine wins, and by Naďa Urbánková with five awards.
