Éric Brian

Éric Brian is an historian of science and a sociologist. He is studying uncertainty and regularity of social phenomena, and in particular how scientists have caught and conceived them as objects of mathematics or social and economical sciences.
He is currently senior professor at EHESS (École des hautes études en sciences sociales
, Paris, France) and affiliated to INED (Institut national d'études démographiques
, Paris, France). Since 1995, he is the editor of the Revue de synthèse
today published at Springer Verlag (Paris). Since 1997, he teaches too at the University of Vienna
