Another program with a rapidly growing listenership is "The Sports Lounge" hosted by Karen Mitchell, Wednesday nights between 8 and 9 p.m. Karen is joined each week by her panel of alleged local experts: the legend, Mark Tookey, Robert "Blanchy" Blanch and the saintly Jeff Leeming. The show also air's guests which include members of local sports teams and clubs trying to lift the profile of their particular sports and to announce upcoming events.
Karen and the panel do a weekly update of the "Lounges" NRL tipping competition and finish off with a section called "Looking out the window" which encourages comment and analysis of current sporting stories from around the world.
As part of the programs community ties, the "Big Red Sports Lounge" an actual red three seater lounge supplied by IKEA travels around to local sporting events and is placed on the halfway mark for special guests and phone in winners who are fed and watered by the hosting clubs.
