by winning fourteen of the season's eighteen races. 1994 saw the introduction of a new points-scoring system, changing from 9-6-4-3-2-1 for the top six finishers to 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 for the top ten finishers with a point awarded for fastest lap, as well as four 'double-header' events which by 2001 would comprise the entire calendar.
