1999 United States Figure Skating Championships

The U.S. Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition
organzied by the United States Figure Skating Association
. In addition to determining the national champions, the event was used to determine the U.S. teams for the World Figure Skating Championships
and the Four Continents Championships. Skaters competed in three levels: Senior, Junior, and Novice. Medals were awarded in five disciplines: Ladies singles

, and compulsory figures
(mixed). Medals were given out in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth).
The 1999 Championships took place between February 7–14, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah
. The event was held at the Delta CenterThe 1999 National Championships was the final year that figures were competed. Figures had been competed at Nationals since Nationals began. For the only time, figures were a mixed event separated only by the three levels, with men and women competing against each other. The final skater to trace a figure at Nationals was Lauren Hill.

The 1999 Championships were the first of three U.S. Men's titles (1999, 2000, 2003) for Michael Weiss. This was the third appearance in the U.S. Championships for silver medalist, Trifun Zivanovic; and was his highest placing.
