Simpson is the only player to have ever rushed for 2000 yards in a 14-game season, as the five others who accomplished the feat all did so in a 16-game season (Simpson's 2003 yards in 14 games is the equivalent of 2289 yards for 16 games). The most recent occurrence was in 2009 when Chris Johnson
of the Tennessee Titans
