The 17th Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships was held in the Hasely Crawford Stadium
in Port of Spain

, on 14–16 July 2006, and organized by the National Amateur Athletic Association of Trinidad & Tobago (NAAATT). The event was open for athletes from the invited countries, that are members of the Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation
(CACAC), in two categories: Junior A Category: 17 to 19 years as of 31 December 2004 (Born between 1987 and 1989), and Junior B Category: 14 to 16 years as of 31 December 2006 (Born between 1990 and 1992). A preview and detailed discussions of the results on a day-by-day basis are given.
