The 2006 Masters Tournament was the 70th Masters Tournament, played April 6–9 at Augusta National Golf Club
. The course was lengthened significantly before the tournament, making the course play 7,445 yards (up from 7,290 in 2005). Phil Mickelson
won his second Masters and second consecutive major, winning by two with a score of seven under 281. The purse was $7.0 million and Mickelson earned $1.26 million.
