The 29th Dakar Rally breaks all previous record of having highest number of competitors (525 teams) from various countries (42). Many competitors will be experiencing the Dakar adventure for the first time. 38% of the bikers and 10% of the car racers are rookies. The class of 2007 is also quite young; 40% are between 18 and 39 years old.
