Shortstop Ryan Shay was recognized as one of the top seven shortstops in the country by Ping!Baseball. Ping!Baseball named Shay to its Preseason All-Ping! team, making the "For your consideration..." category under the third team.

Bowling Green was picked to finish third in the East Division, behind nationally ranked Kent State and Ohio. Senior Kevin Leady (RHP) will be redshirted for the 2009 season after undergoing in November 2008.
