2009–10 Iraqi Premier League

The 2009–10 season was the 36th edition of the Iraqi Premier League. It was initially set to start in October 2009, but was later rescheduled for December, with an additional qualifying round to determine a 36-team league. The season saw Dohuk FC crowned as champions for the first time ever.

Group B
League's Format
The league is to have 36 teams divided into two groups (North, and South) of 18 teams. All teams from Baghdad will be divided into both groups. The bottom-5 of each group will be relegated, and top 6 of each group reaching the final (elite) stage. The elite stage will have three groups of four. The three 1st places and best 2nd place will reach the semi-finals. There will also be a third-place match.Overview
