, New Zealand, to be held from 28–30 January, but have since withdrawn from the tournament. Instead, the Swifts played against the Northern Mystics in two matches, each match lasting five quarters.

Summary

The Swifts were favourites to winning their second premiership. However, their losses against the Firebirds and the Vixens in the early rounds didn't show their true form.

The Swifts were the only team to have a bye in round 8 (super round). However, the Swifts had to play the next four matches in eleven days. During these four matches, the Swifts had to travel twice to New Zealand and only had one home game (their final home game). Despite losing to the Thunderbirds, the Swifts managed to defeat the Magic, Mystics and Steel to become the first team to defeat all the New Zealand teams in the season.

In round 11, the Swift's one goal victory wasn't their only closest win for the season, they also became the first team to defeat the Steel in Dunedin.

In round 12, the Swifts got their revenge from round 3 by defeated the Melbourne Vixens by 12 goals in Melbourne. Not only did this win guarantee the Swifts a place in the top four, it also meant the Swifts retained the Sargeant McKinnis Cup for scoring more goals than the Vixens by aggregate.

After twelve rounds of the competition, the Swifts finished third on the ladder with nine wins and four losses. As a result, the Swifts hosted the minor semi final against the Mystics. In the minor semi final, the Swifts lost to the Mystics by five goals. This was their third loss in a row during the finals and ended their campaign in fourth.

Despite this setback, five of the Swifts players – Bulley, Cox, Gerrard, Green and Pratley – were part of the 23 player squad in hopes of being part of the final team of twelve to represent the Diamonds in at the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore. Three players (Cox, Gerrard and Green) were selected for the team, which eventually won gold in the final of the tournament.
