2011–12 Azadegan League

The 2011–12 Azadegan League will be the 11th season of the second-level football league competition of Iran
.
The league will be composed of 28 teams divided into two divisions of 14 teams each, whose teams will be divided geographically. Teams will play only other teams in their own division, once at home and once away for a total of 26 matches each.
In each division, one team are promoted to Persian Gulf Cup, and one team enter into a play-off and two teams are relegated to the third-level Second Division
. In total, the league promotes three teams to Persian Gulf Cup and relegates four teams to the Second Division.
The league was started from September 1, 2011.

Teams
The league will feature three clubs relegated from Iran Pro League: Steel Azin returned to the Azadegan League after two seasons in the top division, whereas Paykan were relegated after a two-year stint. The third team Pas Hamedan, were relegated for the first time in club history to a lower league.Group A
